Leapord Safari

Jhalana Leopard Safari – Jaipur

Introduction

Jhalana Leopard Reserve is India’s first dedicated leopard reserve, located within Jaipur city in the foothills of the ancient Aravalli range. Declared a protected reserve in 2017, the park spans around 20 square kilometers of dry deciduous forest and is home to more than 40 leopards, making it one of the best places in India for reliable leopard sightings. Unlike many other wildlife reserves, leopards here are often active during the day, giving visitors a higher chance of sightings.

Apart from leopards, the reserve is home to striped hyenas, desert foxes, jungle cats, jackals, civets, porcupines, nilgai, sambar deer, chital, and many bird species including owls and eagles. A special attraction inside the reserve is the historic Shikaar Audi, a royal hunting lodge once used by the Jaipur royal family, which offers panoramic views of the forest. The safari here is not just about wildlife spotting but about understanding the ecosystem, landscape, and wildlife behavior with trained naturalists and wildlife experts.
